Mrs. Myrtle Nickerson Keech, 71, a former Peekskill resident who lived recently in Putnam, Ct., died Jan. 21 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Ct. after a long illness.


Mrs. Keech was born in Peekskill on May 4, 1907, a daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Frost Nickerson. She was a graduate of Peekskill High School where she played for the school's winning girls basketball team.


She is survived by her husband Herman A. Keech; a son James H. Keech of Woodstock, Ct.; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Briere of Putnam, Mrs. John Linehan of Clinton, Ill., and Mrs. John Rice of Thompson, Ct.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Gordineer of Putnam Valley and Mrs. Carolyn Davis of Buchanan, 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.


Funeral services were conducted in Putnam, with the Rev. Theodore Ekholm, officiating. Burial was at Grove Street Cemetery in Putnam.
