Marie was left an orphan and there is no data on why she decided to come to America.
Marie married August sturm in 1855, they had five children: Sophia(1856), Henry(1864), Martin(1866), Rose(1868)and Edward(1871).
Marie had a German Bible and with this she taught her children to read and write as there were no schools in the area.
August and Marie's children walked a trail through the woods to attend church and Sunday school at the Methodist Church located on Berne and Caseville Road and that trail along the Sturm homestead has now become a modern highway known as Sturm Road.

Marie was my great great great grandmother, her son Henry was my great great grandfather!
