... The sad news of the death of little Arthur, son of Rev. Ormel and Hattie Lucas, of Oregon City, Oregon, reached friends here last Saturday day, one week after his death membranous croup. Also the death of Mrs. David Lucas who, with her family, went from this place to Canon City, Col. Several years since. The cause of her death was typhoid fever. Her daughter Sarah in a letter dated December 17, says, "our darling mother passed away last night just as the old clock struk eleven. All of the seven children were present except Ormel."
