While wading in Lake Killarney, Ivy Ricketts, 45, unexpectedly got into deep water and sank. Carney Fesler, a clergyman, waded from the bank 20 feet and then dived toward the point where Miss Ricketts had disappeared. He did not rise. Both were drowned. Fesler was post-humously awarded the Carnegie Hero Fund Bronze Medal for his efforts to save Ivy.
