From 1920 until 1922 she was the manager of the small theater in Berlin-Charlottenburg, where she staged Schnitzler's "Reigen" on 23 December 1920, allthough the censor had forbidden it. Together with the actors she was put on trial, but acquitted in 1921.
In 1923 she made her movie debut in "Das brennende Geheimnis" and in the following years she often played vamps. In 1928 she quit the movie scene and concentrated on theater. In 1941 she returned to the cinema and in 1945 she became a honorary member of the Deutsche Theater.
