Renee was a life-long resident of Westlake and degreed as a graphic artist. She was the fiercely proud mother of only one child, Daryl Wayne Watson. She was the glowing bride of James Pace Gardner-married ten months ago. Her last words were invoking Mary, the Mother of God. Her younger brother, Perry McGrath, has already gone to the Father. In addition to her husband and son, Renee is survived by: mother and stepfather, Peggy and Pete Wells; her brothers, Father Joseph McGrath and Les and Carmen McGrath, and her sisters, Rita McGrath and Vicki Crotts.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Father Joseph McGrath will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake from 2-9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. til time of service on Saturday.
