She attended American University in Washington, D.C. Charles Lindbergh took her for a flight after completing the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. She actively participated in many military officer's wives' clubs while living on Air Force bases in Europe, Asia and India, having been based primarily out of Turkey and Japan.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Harold L. Brooks Sr.; daughters, Brenda G. Terry and Norma Howerton; son, Harold Brooks Jr.; seven grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
SERVICES: Services will be private. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. Arrangements are by Lowther Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
