Son of Benjamin and Elizabeth(Knickerbocker)VanLeuven.

His recent ancestors were settlers of New Amsterdam (now New York) in the early 1600's.
He was a direct descendant of Kings (Henry II - Edward III) and Queens of England, Scotland and France, via his maternal grandmother, Elenore Bain, who was kin to the McKenzies and Stewarts of Scotland.
He was also a direct descendant of Charlemagne.
He was a Mormon Pioneer.
He died of a severe cold in 1847, while crossing the plain, alongside the trail to Atchison, Missouri where his sons Ben & Fred lived. (Old Ancestral File info, circa 1992)
