Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mr. Babbitt died Tuesday in a Lawton hospital. Inurnment will follow at Highland Cemetery.
He was born May 26, 1937 in Lawton to Howard and Gwendolyn (Lewis) Babbitt. He attended Lawton public schools before graduating from Lawton High School in 1955. He was active in the FFA and worked on his grandfather's ranch. He attended Cameron University, Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He served in the US Navy four years and became the Secretary/Treasurer of the Lawton Home Savings and Loan upon his honorable discharge. He was married to Janell Nunn.
Survivors include his 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale Ray Babbitt and Terry Howard and Jacqueline Babbitt; a grandson, Jack Howard Babbitt; a brother, Jerry Babbitt; and 2 sisters, Jill Martin and Jane Schau. He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife, grandparents, Roy and Kay Lewis and Ray and Gladys Babbitt.
