Benjamin Warne lived in a log cabin near the Mill Brook in Broadway, NJ. He later built a stone dwelling place. He also constructed a wooden gristmill along the Mill Brook.
His farmstead contained 303 acres. The wooden gristmill, which was erected sometime after the Revolutionary War, was replaced by a three story stone structure.
Benjamin Warne was the first cousin of Joseph Warne who lived on a farmstead nearby. Joseph Warne was the husband of Margaret "Peggy" Vliet Warne; Find-A-Grave memorial #8933437.
Benjamin and Hannah (McKinney) Warne had the following seven children:
I. Thomas Warne (B.Sept. 23, 1796-d.May 22, 1816).
II. Hon. Stephen Warne (b.April 3, 1798-d.Jan. 1, 1879).
Stephen Warne married Keziah Van Syckel, his brother Richard Warne's widow in 1835. Stephen Warne bought out the remaining portion of the Benjamin Warne Farmstead and Mill from his brothers. Stephen Warne was a Warren County Freeholder and a New Jersey State Senator. He served in the state legislature from 1843-1845.
Stephen and Keziah Warne had the following children:
(1) Elizabeth Warne; Find-A-Grave mem.#56840486.
(2) Rachel Van Syckel Warne (b.March 29, 1839-d.Nov. 30, 1903). She married James Edwin Hulsizer.
(3) Nicodemus Warne was born on July 30, 1841. He married Zeruiah Hulshizer on June 6, 1866. He inherited the family farm, dwellings and grist mill. The mill became locally known as Nicodemus Warne's Mill.
Nicodemus and Zeruiah Warne had one child, a daughter named Keziah Warne (b.October 28, 1869). Keziah Warne married Edward C. Brill on October 14, 1891. Edward Brill was a breeder of Holstein cattle. They lived in Poughquag, Dutchess County, NY.
III. Hon. William McKinney Warne (b.June 20, 1800-d.May 30, 1869). He married Susan Sherred of Belvidere, NJ on Dec. 2, 1822. William McKinney Warne was a Judge for the Court of Common Pleas in Warren County, NJ. He lived in Pleasant Valley, NJ. Annie Dunham Warne (b.June 28, 1824), the daughter of William and Susan Warne, married Theodore D. Howell who was a wealthy New York City merchant. They had residences in Norwalk, Conn. and N.Y.C., NY. Their NYC home was located on 72nd. and 8th. Ave. in "The Dakota" in NYC. Jennie Warne Howell, the daughter of Annie Dunham Warne and Theodore D. Howell, married Roberts LeBoutillier. Roberts LeBoutillier inherited the lucrative LeBoutillier Brothers empire along with his brother Edward LeBoutillier and brother-in-law Thomas B. Homer. LeBoutillier Brothers was founded by Charles LeBoutillier (1811-1890), the father of Roberts LeBoutillier and Thomas LeBoutillier, the uncle of Roberts LeBoutillier. Charles LeBoutiller emigrated to America from the Bailwick of Guernsey (U.K.), off the coast of Normandy, with his father George LeBoutillier and his brother Thomas LeBoutillier in 1837. Jennie Warne Howell and Roberts LeBoutillier had a "country estate" on East Washington Ave. in Germantown, PA. Roberts and Jennie LeBoutillier had a son Theodore LeBoutillier. Lt. Col. Dr. Theodore LeBoutillier was a recipient of the French Medal of Honor during World War I. Dr LeBoutillier was the Director of Pediatrics at the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania. In 2002, the former Woman's Medical College and Hahnemann Medical School merged to form The Drexel University School of Medicine.

VI. Nicodemus Warne (b.Sept. 16, 1806-d.Dec.20, 1829). He was an attorney.
