Professional Baseball Player. A centerfielder, she spent four seasons in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). Raised in northern New Jersey, she showed her athletic talent early, playing organized baseball at 14 and again in high school. Following a tryout with the AAGPBL, Carol was assigned to the Rockford Peaches in 1951 and was to spend three years with the club. Traded to the Kalamazoo Lassies in 1954 she had her most productive campaign, batting .276 and recording all 15 of her lifetime home runs, in the process helping her team to what turned out to be the final AAGPBL title. After the league folded Carol returned to New Jersy where she worked for 37 years with Merck & Company. In 1988 she was part of the mass induction of the AAGPBL and its players into the Baseball Hall of Fame; the league's story was told in the 1992 movie "A League of Their Own". Carol died following a protracted illness.
