"Wesley Cody Hunnicutt, 85, of Gravelly, died Saturday in a Ft. Smith (Arkansas)hospital. He was a retired school teacher (and taught)in several schools in Yell County.

Survivors include four sons, Arthur Hunnicutt of North Ridge, Calif., Julian Hunnicutt of Plainview, Eugene Hunnicutt of Clarksville and Alvin Hunnicutt of Richmond Calif.; a brother, C. C. Hunnicutt of Bald Knob; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Cowger of Danville and Mrs. John Lemons of Muskogee, Okla.; nine grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren." Cody was the father of the Broadway and Hollywood character actor Arthur Lee Hunnicutt who co-starred with many of the big names in Hollywood such as John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas and many, many more. Arthur is buried at the Coop Prairie Cemetery, Mansfield, Logan County, Arkansas, next to his wife Pebbles.
