Mrs. Anna Johnson Called to Last Reward. Passed Away at Her Home in Hills Last Sunday Afternoon. Remains Taken to Wisconsin. Funeral Services Held at Bethlehem Church Yesterday Morning.
On March 25th at 2:30 pm occurred the death of Mrs. Anna Johnson at the age of 75years, 5 months and 17 days.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Guldbrandsdalen, Norway on September 8, 1952 and came to the country in 1866.
She was married in the 1895, her husband preceding her to the Great Beyond.
The deceased came to Hills in 1910 and made her home from that time with her brother C.E. Halls until last fall when she moved into her home on South Main.
Mrs. Johnson had been ailing more or less for the past two years with cancer of the stomach, which was the cause of her death.
She was a woman endowed with a cheerful disposition and always had a kind word for everybody, and she carried the "good will toward all" to the end.
She leaves to mourn her death, one brother, C.E. Halls, of Hills, eight nephews, four nieces and two step sons, Oliver Johnson of Melvina, WI and Melvin Johnson of Joliet, MT.
Funeral services were conducted from the home at 9:30 am yesterday morning and from Bethlehem Church at 10:00, Rev. Theo Rodsater officiating. After services the remains were taken via Beaver Creek to Brush Creek, WI where they will be interred today beside her husband. A.H. Halls will accompany the remains to their final resting place.
