Actor. He will be best remembered for playing Virgil Edwards in the TV-Comedy "McHale's Navy" (1962 to 1966). Following service with the US Navy and from the aid of a Fulbright Scholarship, he was trained in acting and singing at the American Theater Wing in New York City. Additionally a skilled bodybuilder, Stroll toured with national stage companies and performed in productions of "Stalag 17", "Carousel" and "Pajama Game". He was introduced to television audiences in an episode of "How to Marry a Millionaire" and had further guest parts with "Sea Hunt", "The Twilight Zone" and "Murder, She Wrote". Among his motion picture credits are "The Wild and the Innocent" (1959), "The Three Stooges in Orbit" (1962) and "McHale's Navy Joins the Air Force" (1964). Besides his acting career, Stroll skippered commercial vessels for the US Coast Guard and was a marine surveyor.
