Gideon is the son of George Allen and his second wife,Katherine of Sandwich,Barnstable,MA.He married Sarah Prudden in 1671 in Milford,New Haven,CN.

Gideon Allen is not the son of George Allen and Katherine Starkes. The George Allen who married Katherine Starkes was the son of Richard Allen of the Tower of London, and he was still residing in London, England as late as 1640 when he was mentioned in the will of his brother, Henry Allen. This George Allen is also believed to be the same George Allen who died at St. Michael Queenhithe, London on 26 March 1664. Gideon's mother was not Katherine Collins either as their is absolutely not one shred of evidence to support that. The fact is that we simply do not know, and may never know, what Katherine's maiden name was.
