Rance Grimes

Rance Grimes Sr., 85, Pittsburg, died at 10 p.m. March 12, 1967 at the home of Emma Robinson. The aged man fell dead from a heart attack in the bathroom of the home. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bowling-Walker Funeral Home by the Revs. Ancle Ford, John Sullivan, Simmie Johnson and C. A. Williams. Burial followed in the Snuffer Cemetery East Bernstadt Route 1. Pallbearers were Bill Grimes Jr., Bobby Grimes, Vernon and
Don Tyree, Raymond Patton and D. J. Turner. Mr. Grimes was born Nov. 23, 1881, the son of William (Bill) and Mary Sims Grimes. He was married in Laurel County to Margaret Elizabeth (Maggie) Lewis Grimes, Who preceded him in death. Mr. Grimes a farmer, was a member of the Free PentecostalChurch. Surviving are four daughters and four sons: Willie Grimes, East Bernstadt Route 1; Jimmie Grimes and Nuba Patton, both of London Route 2; Johnny Grimes, Hamilton, Rance Grimes Jr., London Route 6; Emma Robinson, Pittsburg; Dessie Mae Wyatt, Ft
Thomas; and Josie Turner, Newport; 32 grandchildren and 92 great-grandchildren. He also leaves three sisters and two brothers: Jossie Allen, Nuba Parker, Cindy North and Hiram Grimes, all of Richmond, Ind.; and Bige Grimes, Hamilton.
