Michael McCue Sr. was born ca 1809 in Ireland, possibly County Mayo, and came to the US in about 1825, when he was a boy. Originally settling in Boonville, Oneida County, NY, he then moved to Denmark, Lewis County, NY, and then to Martinsburg, Lewis, NY where he spent the rest of his married life. He and his wife Anna Quinn McCue had 8 children, Thomas, Peter, Eliza, Anna, Mary, Michael Jr., Adeline (Addie) and John.

It is possible that the link below, "Infant Children McCue" are the graves of Peter, Eliza and Mary, all of whom likely died before reaching adulthood.

Michael had two known younger sisters, Margaret and Honora. Margaret emigrated ca 1839 and lived next to Michael's family in Martinsburg. She married first Peter Moren (1826-1859), and second William Miller. Honora emigrated at the same time as Margaret, but settled in Croghan, Lewis County NY. She married James Harvey (1812-1901)
