Grace was born 25 Oct 1807 at Hiwassee Garrison, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Timothy Meigs and Elizabeth Holt, and granddaughter of Col. Return Jonathan Meigs. She was the widow of Dr. Thomas Farrar Marshell Callaway. She died 1 November 1853 and her obituary was printed in Athens Semi-Weekly Post, November 11, 1853. She had two sons Return John Farrar Callaway and Marshall Timothy Callaway.
