1st Lieutenant Jesse Mohon, Co.G, 3rd Regiment,Alabama Cavalry, died of gunshot wounds received in the Battle of Stones River, Murfreesboro,Tenn. His final resting place is the Confederate Circle in the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Confederate dead were not treated well after the war as they were moved several times in and around Murfreesboro. Thanks to the Ladies Memorial Association in 1891, these 2000 Confederate soldiers were provided a final and honorable resting place in this cemetery.
