Swedish Journalist and Diplomat. For many years the Swedish Radio and Television´s correspondent in United States. His reports from the murders of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, as well as the first landing on the moon and Watergate, are legendary. ”Arne Thorén, New York,” is a well known quote. When returning back home to Sweden, he became chief editor for Göteborgs-Posten (The Gothenburg Post). Subsequently he commenced his diplomatic career, when being appointed consul-general in Chicago, Swedish Ambassador in Iraq and eventually consul-general in New York before retiring.
