Leroy E. "Bob" Everitt
A funeral service was Oct. 5 for Leroy E. "Bob" Everitt of Parker, who died Oct. 2 in Aurora. Interment was at Parker Cemetery. He was 78.
Born Feb. 19, 1924, on his grandfather's ranch and in the same house his father was born, he was the son of Carlos Hall and Esther S. (Nelson) Everitt.
He and Clara E. Rose were married Feb. 14, 1953, in Parker. The couple settled on his ranch east of Parker. Carrying on the heritage of his father and grandfather, Mr. Everitt worked the land. He and his wife raised wheat, feed crops and worked to raise quality Hereford cattle.
His wife preceded him in death Sept. 24 in Parker. Also preceding him in death were an infant son, a nephew and two great-nephews.
Mr. Everitt is survived by daughters Karen and Eileen Everitt of Parker and Elaine Gabriel and her husband, Bill, of Elbert; grandson James Gabriel of Elbert; sisters Evelyn Race and Carol White of Elizabeth; brothers Bill Everitt and his wife, Dixie, of Akron and Dick Everitt and his wife, Wanda, of Middleton, Idaho; aunts Janette Everitt of Parker and Mary Everitt of Montrose; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
