An interesting little boy, the son of Mr. John McKinney, was drowned about half-past seven o'clock on Saturday evening by falling into a barrel filled with water. The little fellow was standing in a chair near the barrel of the water at play, when losing his balance he fell in. Life was not quite extinct when the child was taken from the barrel, but all the efforts of the physician to restore it were in vain. This sad occurrence took place at the residence of the parents on Depot street, and with them we sympathize in their deep affliction.
