Grace was the daughter of Michael McMullin and was born in Ireland in August 1833. Her parents left Ireland shortly after she was born and she stayed behind in Ireland until sometime after 1850 when she came to the US. It appears she entered the county through New York, as she married Daniel Gillen in Brooklyn prior to 1860. In 1864 Daniel purchased a store in Rossie NY and the family relocated there, which is where her father Michael McMullin lived. Daniel died 6 years later, in 1870. 3 of her 5 children died as young children, and another at age 32.
