Mrs. W.R. Compton, 83, died Wednesday at 1:45 p.m. at a Hartselle hospital following a year's illness.
Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the Guntharp Brown Chapel with the Rev. R.E. Wilkens and the Rev. Wayne Davis conducting.
Burial will be in the City Cemetery with Guntharp Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John E. Sandlin, Decatur; Mrs. Gladys McCutchens, Decatur; Mrs. Russell Bennett, Kassler Cross Lane, Va; one son, Harvey Compton, Detroit, Mich; two brothers, E.S. Oliver, Lutz, Fla; W.D. Blackman, Sheffield; one sister, Mrs. Omer Parker, Dayton, Ohio.
Pallbearers will be Pruitt Mitchell, Phil Mitchell, Charlie Price, Paul Blaxton, C.C. Acker, and Elmer Bishop.
Mrs. Compton was the widow of the late W.R. Compton and a member of the 16th Ave. Baptist Church.
