Services for Mrs. Eleanor McKenzie Thompson, 86, of Monroe, will be at 10 am, Saturday, July 16, 2005, at First United Methodist Church of Monroe, with Rev. Larry Stafford and Rev. Terry Love officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Thompson, a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and The Book Club, was born December 17, 1918, in Monroe, Louisiana. She attended Newcomb College and Northeast Louisiana State College. She was an English teacher at Neville High School who greatly influences students for over 20 years.

Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her parents:
