LEWIS F. MORRISON DIED FRIDAY MORNING
Lewis Fletcher Morrison died at the home of his mother, Mrs. J. F. Morrison, 1031 River street, at 4:45 o'clock this morning from miner's consumption, a disease from which he had suffered for many months. Deceased was born at Statesville, N. C., May 30, 1866, and came to Colorado with other members of the family in 1887.
In 1889 Mr. Morrison was married to Miss Mary Forbin(?) of this city, who, with one daughter, Miss Dorris, survives to mourn his death. Deceased had lived in Leadville for many years, where he was engaged in mining enterprises. In November, 1915, Mr. Morrison sustained injuries while working in a mine at Leadville from the effects of which he never fully recovered. This injury, coupled with the disease that had fastened itself upon him by a too close application to his business, was the cause of his death. In February of this year Mr. Morrison's condition became such as to prevent him from further work and he removed to Canon City with his wife and daughter and remained here until the end came. For forty days previous to his death Mr. Morrison was confined to his bed.
His mother, Mrs J. F. Morrison, three sisters and four brothers survive him. The brothers and sisters are Miss Fanny and Miss Coney Morrison of Canon City - John Q. Morrison of Boulder, Lee Morrison of Boulder, Al Morrison of Great Falls, Mon., and Hall Morrison of Canon City. All of the brothers except Al Morrison will be here for the funeral services, which will take place form the family home, 1031 River street, at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The service will be conducted by the Rev. J. F. Starring, pastor of the First Baptist church, and Rev. Chas. J. Armentrout of the First Presbyterian church. Interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
