MISS HELEN E. MYERS AND WILLIAM H. ALLEN WEDDED LAST NIGHT

____________

A Charming Affair of handsome Costumes, Floral Decorations and Sweet Music.

____________

In a prettily decorated room, trimmed with garlands of roses and smilax, was solemnized the marriage of Miss Helen E. Myers and William H. Allen last evening. The ceremony was performed in the residence of the bride's mother on Fifth avenue, Point Breeze. Only the immediate relatives and close friends of both families were present when, at 6 o'clock, the bridal party entered the wedding chamber. Satin ribbons of creamy white divided the room into three compartments, the middle and smaller one being the space reserved for the contracting parties and minister, while on either side the spectators were grouped. Ensconced in a shady nook Toergo's orchestra played appropriate music while the assembled company entered. The groom, a well-known Wood street merchant, accompanied by his brother, Edward Allen, who acted as groomsman, came first, while Master Harold Allen, in a Lord Fauntleroy suit of black velvet, followed. Next came the maid of honor, Miss Lida L. Brickell, and then the bride, leaning on the arm of her uncle, Mr. E. A. Myers. Dr. Thomas H. Robinson, of the Western Theological Seminary, performed the ceremony and spoke a few words of earnest advice at the conclusion.
The bride, who is the daughter of the late U.H. Myers, of Harrisburg, for years State printer, and the niece of E. A. Myers of the POST, was handsomely attired in a heavy white silk costume. A bridal veil and a few choice jewels completed the picture while a bouquet of hyacinths was clasped in her hand. Her blonde beauty and sweet presence could not have been more effectively adorned. Miss Brickell, the bridesmaid, was most becomingly dressed in white China crepe which charmingly displayed this pretty brunette.
The supper, by Kennedy, was a dainty one and followed the congratulations showered upon the newly wedded pair. They left on the 9 o'clock train for the East on a three week's trip to Old Point Comfort and neighboring resorts. The gifts were numerous and elaborate and completely filled one room. Silver statuary, bronzes, and a magnificent onyx stand were among the offerings.
Murdock furnished the floral decorations, which were extremely handsome in selection and display and filled the residence with a hundred subtle perfumes. In fact, the entire affair had been so well planned that not the semblance of a hitch occurred and the event will certainly be one of the most delightful of the season.
Among those present beside the bride's mother were the groom's parents, Colonel E.J. Allen and wife; Miss May and Edna Allen, Mr. Edward Bindley and wife, Messrs. Albert and John Bindley, Captain McMillan, wife and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William B. Brickell, Ed. M. Brickell, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Gill, Messrs. Frank, Harry, Walter, Will, Alfred and Louis Gill, Mr. and Mrs. William Wall, Miss Bessie Wall, Mr. A. Bryan Wall, Miss Lizzie Witherow, Mrs. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Phelps and Mrs. Rev. Thomas H. Robinson.
Those from a distance were: Mrs. Maurer and Mrs. Clark, of Harrisburg; Miss Lidie Patterson of Beaver; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams of Dayton, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo D. Myers, of Columbus, O.; Miss Annie T. Myers, Columbus, O.; Mr. Joseph S. Myers, Cleveland, O.; Mr. John Robinson and Miss Laura Robinson, of Cal City.

A second son in Find A Grave is under famous persons.
